
The City Council selected Rose Zimmerman as the first female city attorney in Daly City’s history

DALY CITY, Calif.-- (U.S. ASIAN WIRE) – The City Council selected Rose Zimmerman as the first female city attorney in Daly City’s history at its regular meeting Oct. 9. Zimmerman will succeed retiring City Attorney Stan Gustavson when she assumes the position on Nov. 6, 2006. Ms. Zimmerman has served as Daly City’s Assistant City Attorney since 2002.

“We have selected a tremendously talented lawyer as our new City Attorney, but we will deeply miss Stan Gustavson,” said Mayor Michael Guingona. “Her legal prowess, creative problem solving ability and enthusiasm will be invaluable to Daly City for many, many years.”
Prior to coming to the Daly City City Attorney’s Office, Zimmerman was a trial attorney for the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office. She currently serves as Vice-President of the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California (FBANC) and is a long-standing member of the Asian American Bar Association.
Zimmerman, a former Daly City resident, was born and raised in San Francisco. She currently resides in San Francisco with her husband Rene Acosta, and their two young daughters, Jacqueline (age 3) and Jilliyn (5 months).
Her community service commitment includes pro bono legal services for North San Mateo County residents through FBANC.
