Why participate in the Census?

Federal funds distributed to NYC are based on Census data.

The Census is used to determine the number of seats New York State and City get in the Congress and the State Legislature, as well as the size of
each of the CityÕs 51 Council districts.

Is it safe? Should we encourage our friends and family who are undocumented to be counted?

The Census Bureau does not share information with other government agencies including immigration authorities.

How can my community benefit from the Census?

Learn about job opportunities and how to apply for media buys that will become available.
