Audrey Magazine Continues to Break New Ground in the Media Nation’s Leading Asian-American Women’s Magazine Recognized with “Ethnic Pulitzer”
December 1, 2006
LOS ANGELES—(U.S. ASIAN WIRE) --AUDREY magazine, the nation’s premier lifestyle magazine created by Asian-American women, for Asian-American women, continues to break new ground in its coverage of issues relevant to modern women. The bi-monthly publication, with its stylish, glossy look and smart English language copy, has consistently captivated a growing number of fans and readers since its premiere issue in March 2003, by celebrating Asian- American women and providing a voice for them in the country’s socio-cultural panorama. Marking yet another milestone for the magazine, Associate Managing Editor Anna M. Park recently won New American Media’s First National Ethnic Media Award (the so-called “Ethnic Pulitzers”) in “Technology Reporting,” for her story, “The Waiting Game,” on the growing problem of infertility and the new technological advances made in the field. The award comes as validation of the magazine’s increasing importance in addressing issues relevant to all Americans with a subtext that speaks directly to Asian-Americans.
Each issue of AUDREY explores a wide variety of topics relevant to modern Asian-American women today. Ranging from the latest fashion trends to must-have beauty products, from political issues to cultural issues, from dining to home décor to travel, and from arts and entertainment to mind and body, AUDREY has risen quickly to become an authoritative voice in the multicultural diaspora that is America. According to President James Ryu, “We’re not looking for Audrey to replace existing women’s magazines, but rather to be complementary to them. Asian-American women as well as our other readers understand that it isn’t so much a difference in content as it is a distinct point of view.” The people behind AUDREY continue to raise the stakes in providing the finest magazine yet to an ever-growing market, a demographic that is highly educated, earns high incomes and are exceptionally savvy consumers. The latest census bureau reports that over 11 million Asian Americans are living in the United States, many of whom are leaders in their respective fields. AUDREY magazine is available now at Borders, Barnes and Noble, and B. Dalton nationwide, or by direct subscription.
